It is essential to thoroughly review and audit field labor rates to ensure accuracy and fairness. This includes verifying base wages, fringe benefits, payroll taxes, insurance, and any other cost components included in the field labor rate.

During this recent audit of field labor rates, we identified overstated tax and insurance percentages and calculation. After correcting these items, we were able to reduce the field labor rates by an average of $5.00 per hour.

Now, these verified, lower rates will be applied to all change order work moving forward in the project. As a result, the first change order on the project realized a savings of $5,000, directly attributable to the labor rate corrections.
